Sorry guys everything like got put to a link and I couldn't undo it so just don't worry about it.
By the year 2030, half of the world's population will be living in areas with a water shortage. About two years ago, 120 nations met to discuss this issue. They realized that countries need to stop having wars over water resources. Many countries are also having wars because of the fight for water. They said that the water shortage is one of the triggers of conflict between countries. This issue really hasn't been resolved and it is only going to get worse. There are about 6.6 billion people in the world today. By 2050, there will be 2.5 billion more people. A lot of these people will be born into countries that already have a water scarcity problem today.
I think it is sad that the wars are being fought over water scarcity. it is very scary that in a a few decades half of the world will be suffering of water shortage. we have seen videos in class about countries with low amounts of fresh water, and i would not want to do what they do. traveling long distances for barely enough water to last through the day would be tiring. also they had to put in tablets to make the water safe to drink. i would not want to have to put tablets in my water to make it safe to drink. i am so used to my water being safe right out of the faucet. people have to watch how much water they use, and stop pollution.
ReplyDeleteQUESTION 2: 2030
QUESTION 3: I do not think the problem will ever be solved because billions of people are still going to be using water every day, and there will become less and less of it every year. it is impossible for fresh water to magically appear. we would all wish it could, but it cant. we have to use the water we have wisely.
I was not aware of how bad the water scarcity issue is. I find it very surprising to hear the amount of countries and people who are facing problems with a lack of water. The fact that many respected world leaders think that the next world war may be fought over water is mind-blowing. However when you put into perspective how much water is needed for one day, it becomes more apparent that there is such a large problem. Living in a stable city in America, I do not face issues with this daily, but I do see it on the news. There are so many countries in Africa and around the world that cannot waste any water, it is very disappointing to me, to think about how much water I waste daily. This issue affects everyone, and the world needs to come together to out an end to water scarcity.
ReplyDelete1. I can help with this water issue by wasting less water. I understand that I cannot do it on my own, but if everybody starts taking shorter showers, turning the water off when they brush their teeth, and stop polluting the only fresh water we have, there would be a lot more water to go around for the world.

3. Unfortunately, while many people may do a lot to help this problem, I do not think that it will ever be fully solved, because that would require EVERY SINGLE PERSON to do their part. In reality, we know that will never happen.
4. I think that these conflicts haven’t stopped because not everybody is doing their part in contributing to find a solution. When people think of international conflict, they think of world hunger and oil and global warming…not water. People need to become more aware of what is necessary to stop water scarcity.
The sarcity issue is a lot worse than I thought. exspecailly the part that in 2050 there will be 25 million people and a lot of them are born into countries who already have a water problem. Plus all of the fighting happening over the water its just eye opening. I had no idea the troubles the Africans had before we watched the video in class of how far they had to walk to get "clean" water. Carrying it miles and not even having enough for their whole family. The fact that this is a few decades away from happening to us.

3) i want to believe it will get better, but honestly I don't think it will happen I don't think people care enough to act upon it.
The water scaricity problem is pretty mind blowing to be honest. For instance the expected amount of people on in Earth in 2050 will make the issue that much more magnefied. To top if the amount fihgting over something as simple as water is ridiculas in itself.

3) I hope it will be solved before it gets too out of control.
